My first subject was of course my little man, isn't he cute. I think I shot this on auto with my awesome pop up flash!! He's still cute.
and I just loved these sleeping ones of Caleb, a tad underexposed would you say??

I started shooting in Manual this month, yeah I jumped right in right away. Gotta love my try with the background, still didn't quite understand exposure or rule of thirds.
I also tried to start playing with aperture, again very underexposed and didn't really get a good depth of field with my kit lens set at f3.5 and my ss was 1/30 eeek!!

Finally taking more pictures outside, although I haven't figured out white balance at all. But hey at least I'm trying the rule of thirds.
Ok so focus isn't good at all, but there's light in his eyes!

In October I finally started playing around with my Elements editing software.
finally some of that blurry background stuff :) oh yeah bokeh (I didn't know about bokeh yet just that it was pretty in pictures.
I use to love this picture, nevermind how it is 'soft'

This month I braved it out and asked to do pictures for someone else, a good friend of mine Corinna. I had so much fun doing her maternity, I realized I might really like this hobby of mine!
I had so many favorites from this session, I was really emotionally attached since it was my first one! Here are just a few.

Had my first cake smash session and really loved it.

February 2009: Got my 24-70 L and I think my focus improves a lot!
I also started to 'watermark' this was also my first 'paying' client, I think I charged $4 or $5 for 5x7s and wallets.
Really liked the lighting of this one, just wished it was more rule of 3rds
This is another 1 year old, ended up doing a re-edit to remove some of the orange.

another 3 month old with big gorgeous eyes! I really am getting the catchlights pretty consistantly now.
I didn't have a lot of session in March so I worked on my packaging! Its not all the way there, but a good start.

Another newborn, I am finally starting to get an editing style, little by little, getting a workflow together
Another Maternity, starting to pay attention to surroundings and using reflections.
5 month old figured out how to do rounded edges for my blog.
